Prof Andrew Carroll, will discuss the concept of ‘vicarious trauma’ and briefly explore the psychobiology of empathic responding. Assoc. Prof Carroll will also discuss the landmark case of <em>Kozarov v Victoria (2022) 273 CLR 115</em> and outline a model for a pragmatic approach to the challenges posed by psychosocial hazards like that encountered by the appellant.</p> <p><!-- /wp:paragraph --></p> <p><!-- wp:paragraph --></p> <p>Assoc. Prof. Carroll has worked as a Consultant Forensic Psychiatrist in Australia for over two decades. He is a Director of ‘Our Curious Minds’ : a mental health training and consultancy company with a special focus on enhancing safety for services working with consumers with needs arising from complex trauma.
