VLA Chambers is recruiting!

We are recruiting a new Senior Public Defender to replace wonderful Zoe Broughton, who is returning to the Bar after 8 years of excellent service. This is an ongoing role for an experienced and highly skilled criminal trial and/or appellate advocate. There are also opportunities to appear in strategic litigation matters which overlap with administrative law. Applications close next Sunday night 26 February 2023. We have also created 2 new regional positions for a Public Defender or Associate Public Defender: one based in Morwell (to service Gippsland) and the other in Ballarat or Geelong (to service the west and south-west). These fixed term roles may interest barristers who are keen to further develop their trial practice and make a difference in a regional setting whilst being a part of VLA Chambers.
